Today we will look at what creates pollution. A closer look that is. When you are on the road look at all the cars, vans and, trucks around you. You might think to yourself that is not a ton of pollution. Well, it is. Think about all the cars all the petroleum being burned. Now do you get the picture? But cars and vans aren't just the only things creating pollution, factories and even power plants create pollution. I get annoyed about all the pollution that those factories are producing. This creates a greenhouse effect. Ill show you a diagram about the greenhouse effect.

This is a greenhouse effect. It works much like a green house but on a much larger scale. Also it happens almost year-round. This isn't pollution but it is an effect that might be part of the global warming. One thing leads to another, and soon enough the polar ice caps will melt and the oceans will rise and the coasts of continents will be under water. Trucks, cars, airplanes, boats and other things require power. The power is usually gained by burning coal and or burning oil. The pollution that creates is destructive to the ozone layer. The ozone layer is a layer of the atmosphere, and it's purpose is to absorb or deflect the ultraviolet rays the sun produces.Ultraviolet rays harm our skin and give us sunburns.
Back to pollution, Now you have an effect of what happens, how do you stop it? I suggest turning off the lights when you are not in that room. That is saving energy. "Well it can't do all that much harm though, it' just a light."No that is not true if you turn off lights, you save coal that needs to be burned, which in turn stops the pollution created to turn that coal into energy.

Basic Spreadsheet of what happens to coal and just how much we need it to keep our houses functional and the effects of pollution [update coming soon!!!!!]

With all the pollution happening a gas called Co2 is released into the atmosphere. Co2 acts as a boost for the greenhouse effect. With rising oceans it means coast cities may be wiped out and critical storms (hurricane, tornado, etc.) will be much more likely.
